Poem -

War

You've been a soldier in this silent war for so long.Too long.

No one knows that you are fighting,no one knows who your enemy is.No one realizes that losing this war is killing you.And you are losing, everyday you lose.

You are turning into an ammo dump. The softest footsteps around you could set you off.

And yet despite all of this, you wake up everyday and throw on your battle fatigues and walk into the gunfire. The only proof of this war, are the battle scars marking your skin.

Your battalion consists of only you, because although this is war, you seem to be the only one fighting. You are your enemy.

You are the 50. Caliber machine gun that pierces your heart as you are air borne.

You are everywhere and yet no where at the same time.

If you win,you die,if you lose, you die.You need to stop the war.

You are a great soldier but there is no winning with this.

Bandage your wounds and go home.No more blood will be shed.

The war is over.
