Poem -

Watered stone.

Lower thee down in a wooden casket,
flowers cut, a woven basket

The earth may come to settle again
and grow more life within the rain,

Who may come to visit here
Who may come with inner cheer,

For all well know the sorrow stays
and as we sleep go on the days,

For only death may keep our body
And earth may hold our heart within,

Yet time goes on, and leads our skin
To bone and rust like watered stone

As we lay in lonsome graveside Strangers young and old, come visit here so often,

In summertime for winters cold.
