Waters of My Path

Waters of My Path

Rivers I have traveled flow deep and wide and take me to my path

Where I find another land another experience of venture and pride

Every movement brings me closer with my paddles in the water canoes

Have seen these great lakes and mountains from far and near we gather

Fish we eat and beaver we hunt for its pelt, the rocks underneath us and sand

From the past lay cold but our mirrors of our minds reflect into the waters image

Where our path not forgotten it travels in time with fossils and petrified bones of our body

Our spirits move with each ripple of time I drink from these waters and then pour them

Over me and look up to the heavens and then down to the earth where we chant thanks

Be it for the many good things we have built our nation be free in the mighty waters

We lay our spear and our feet imprinted in the sands shores where we built our dreams
