Poem -

We all wear a mask

So society defines us

whether we care to admit it or not

we are given a role to play

matters not if as a painting or as a dot

we put on certain disguises

and refuse the real us that rises

it is not that we are willfully deceptive

our reality however is just too depressive

we create worlds and illusions that comfort us

and draw closer to the mirage that warms us

we don't want to face our own truths

 and confront our own brutes

but this is life

and with our self images we cannot strife

Eden
