WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I think therefore I am....What?
Besotted?  Obsessed?   In love?
You've guessed.   Yes, another man
A potential lover, and to be frank
I don't know why I bother.
Been here, done this, want to see
My T-shirt?   So I'm probably heading
For the same hurt and all
The usual crap relationships bring.
First stage?   Birds sing and there's hearts and flowers.
Second stage?  Libido lowers and
Complacency sets in.   So then its the
Third and final stage where he 'confesses'
And I leave in a rage whilst he stresses
About hurting me.
So, should I take a chance?
Enter the dance of 'Is this the one?'.
Well he can't be worse than some I've dated,
The last gold-plated bastard didn't say
He was wedding her, just confessed he was bedding her.
To hell with it.  How bad can it be?
What can it hurt?
Me.

Susan, I love your style of write.  Your structure is perfect, each line takes you to the next, and allows your poetry to be read so easily.  This had a great tempo and beat. Your humour is dry and sharp, just how I like it.  You are a great writer Susan, obviously very well versed.  Vote and nomination from me:)
