What is Peace?

I often find myself
Searching for peace,
Yet it always seems elusive

And I think part of
The problem is that
I do not know what
I am looking for.

Is peace being alone?
Is it being in company?
Can it be found in
alcohol intoxication
Or in sobriety?

Is peace the same as
Happiness,
Or are they subtly
Different?

Do we surrender
Ourselves too quickly
To what we think
Will give us pleasure?

Is peace a journey
Or a destination
To be reached?

Is peace simply
An acceptance
Of the past and
Of what cannot
Be changed?

Is inner peace
Just a matter
Of not being at
War with oneself?

If I don't know
What it is
I'm looking for
How will I ever
Find it?
