When God Seems Distant

Often times, it seems as if God is so faraway

You pray and it seems unanswered

it looks as if He has turned his back on you

Suddenly the future looks so gloomy

Everything seems to be working against you

Nothing makes sense anymore

Your health is failing, pressure all around, bills are piled

and friends are wary

You go repeatedly to the Scriptures

and you walk away still discouraged and unhelped

You begin to wonder if there's really a God

If all you've read about Him is true

If He can do what you've read about in the Bible

why can't He help you, you'd wonder

You cry desperately and He seems to be unavailable

You want to yell like David and say "How long!"

You're tempted to seek for solutions elsewhere

But wait!

God has not forsaken you

"Can a woman forget the baby at her breast 

and have no compassion on the child she has borne?

Though she may forget, I will never forget you!"

He says "..........Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Remember His unfailing and unconditional love

was demonstrated on the cross of Calvary

If He can sacrifice His son for you, why would He forsake you?

Even though he may seem distant for a while

He allows us to come to the end of ourselves

so that we must rely on Him and trust Him for what He alone can do for us

Do these!

Seek Him continually and wait for Him

How long? You may ask

it doesn't matter, don't just let go

No matter how hard the wind of circumstances blows

Grant him to see your love for Him

That nothing would seperate you from His love

and trust Him for what he is going to do

No matter how far He seems to be at the moment

No matter how long it takes

God cares for you and would always do!
