When the earth moved

When the earth moved

The day was like any other
As l heard that daunting sound
My legs then start to treble
With the movement of the ground
The buildings started shaking as the earth moved beneath my feet
Buried beneath the rubble
twisted steel and concrete
Surrounded by the darkness
No one could hear my call
Quietly anticipating
the very next rock fall
I lay here quietly thinking
Is this to be my end
Or will someone  come and find me
To save me from my fate
As so much time's elapsed now
I fear they'll be to late
My time is nearly up now
My light is going out
Then I heard a distant call
Is any body there
That echoed through the darkness
Carried swiftly through the air
Soon the horror was over
As I was lifted from the ground
The people then all let out
 the most amazing sound
The rain drops wash the dust away
From my weary face
And I was so very great full
God had shown a little grace
