When We Were Kids

When We Were Kids

We thought we’d live for ever
We thought we’d rule the world
Living was fun, when we were kids
But reality, brought us down to earth

We played out every day, until the setting sun
Sadness, when they shouted us in
Out the next day, come rain or shine
To stay in, was the ultimate sin

We’d play rounders on the street
Our dad’s joined in the fun
Where have all those good days gone
Life has us on the run

 Memories, so fondly kept
In a special place in my heart
 Never, to be forgotten
Our days, of a perfect start

But yes, we thought we’d live forever
In my heart, we always will
Memories of us lot, when we were kids
Forever, the top of the bill
