Poem -

where I could be me

where I could be me

I used to have a little place
Where I could just be me
A humble field that didn't belong
For which I paid a monthly fee

I filled it with all colourful  birds
Little ponies and other cute things
To children and adults a like
IT was a pleasure to see
All of the joy it would bring

To pay my way Id stay all day
In my shop selling food for your pets
The bench was a place to watch life for a while
And think  of all your regrets

Alas the man at the top who could hardly hop
Was greedy and wanted more
So we all had to go and I lost my sole
And my heart was torn to the core
