The Forgotten Garden

This garden that looks forgotten
Was once a happy place
Home to chickens, dogs and bunnies
And a smiling little face

It played host to childrens parties
Cricket and football games
I  still here the busy chatter
And the calling of their names

And through the kitchen window
I see all of Danny's things
A trampoline and goal posts
And remember the joy they would bring

This year no one has picked the apples
From my faithful little tree
Cut the lawn or planted flowers
Then sat outside to drink some tea

In this garden a seed was planted
And a path laid to somewhere new
Its been a long and lonely  journey
To where all of my dreams have come true

This garden is not forgotten
And will have its day againe
Another family a new beginning
To give it life like the rain

where I could be me

where I could be me

I used to have a little place

Because as a pup
In the garden you would dig
For worms and bugs...
