Where Was God Born

Where Was God Born

We hear of 'God's own country' but where might that be?
My friend said Rhodesia but not now it seems to me,
the summer in Cape Town with white light was best,
but was the skin colour not what God put to the test?

Israel peers over the hills where Lord Jesus was born,
maybe too obvious, not white, a lovely shade of brown;
my friend decried England, a dreadful place, lose face,
terrible weather, no Eden, they can't keep up the pace.

However, there is a strange irony, neither Iraq or Iran,
India, China, Americas, Russia or where creation began;
you might like to guess where I'm from, no - not there,
but maybe where God had the time to stand and stare.

God said that you do not know how to behave, I'll divide
you with different colours, I'm everywhere, far and wide.
