Poem -

Where your voice was once heard

An excruciating silence, where your voice was once heard,

Momentarily captured in a void cruelly lived.

I open the door to bare four walls,

That have witnessed torrents of love and terrible brawls.

I enter a new life, just me on my own,

Only you are still here but physically have flown.

My nocturnal visions that see you return,

Smolder into dust and cause my stomach to churn.

You're gone, you're gone, I know that now,

But if only you could return for just one more row.

One more kiss and one more embrace,

Just one more chance to see your face.

They say people never really go,

Then why do I feel like I am sinking low?

I can shout, I can weep,

I can fall to my feet.

But you're never coming back.

An excruciating silence where your voice was once heard.
