WHISTLING

WHISTLING

The other day I heard something that made me smileΒ
Something I haven't heard for a very long whileΒ
A man was whistling as we waited for our train
It was a pretty little tune with a sweet refrainΒ

The art of whistling is now a dying art
Which is an awful shame as it comes from the heart
I think back and remember all those many years agoΒ
My dad taught me how to purse my lips and blow

Men used to whistle when a pretty lady went by
That doesn't happen anymore have all men turned shy ?
My kids don't whistle and are not willing to learn
People of my generation wish it would come back and return

A fun write Kieran. You're right, no one whistles anymore. Especially when a pretty woman walks by. Times have changed for good I guess.

I love whistling,
Β it sparks a memory I also like harmonicas,
I used to play one many years agoΒ
I just think it is a lost art I used to whistle toΒ
to pass time angel
