White Knight

Is my white knight
A thief in the night?
So come and steal me away
I don’t want to wait another day.
Two kingdoms at war
Yet I know where I stand.
So, why am I constantly tested?
Isn’t the kingdom at hand?
The kingdom of the mind
Yet the heart will be weighed
My compassion is heavy
Although atonement is made.
Anything to get out
To get away from this place
From all the pain and the suffering
From my own disgrace.
Oh to lie in a field
With the sun on my face
Surrounded by daisies
In my knight’s embrace.
But maybe I’m dreaming
And I need to wake up
And it is only I
That can fill up my cup?
There must be something more
But until I know
I will prepare a place
In my heart to go.
I will silence the nagging
And transmute the tears
I will hold on to love
And let go of my fears.
I must find a balance
No war can be won
Unless we surrender
We will never move on.
