Who Gives a Damn

Who Gives a Damn

Mortality awaits bloodred dreams
Β Insanity concealed in muffled screams
Craving a ravenous beast
In a world who cares the least
Β
Where those with the brightest light
Are snuffed out in the dead of night
Children sold like chattel
Sent so young into battle
Β
Collateral damage a price too high
Humanity a long cherished lie
Hungering for the stench of wars
Churning our children into whores
Β
Braving Russian roulette
Bullets kill lest we forget
But who said life was fair
A damn not given who’ll dare
Β

Humanity a long cherished lie

Strong words!!
There's real anger and condemnation at the heart of this poem. It's written in your trademark style...but whilstΒ you usually show the darker side of life/the world through the prism of gothic horror and fantasy...here you just tell it like it is with a frank brutality.

Stunning!!

{Oh...have I mentioned that I'm so glad to see you back?!?}

Hey I agree 100%! It's so sad such a young life has to be destroyed. When innocent human flesh is bought and sold. As if their are picking up cold cuts from a butcher. Shameful really that sex is in so high demand. Married men buying adultery. Like it was Christmas gifts for their families. You know the world is burning like Earth is hell, with the devil as comes to our houses as a doormat. God bless us all. Earth may be their devil's play ground. At the end of it all he will average those helpless children!Β
