Who Paints The Sky

www.christinajwords.co.uk

Who Paints The Sky

Who paints the sky with loaded brush
Of bright and bloodied crimson hue,
Then dips their fingers in the sun
And trails its gold across, and through,
The clouds before the day is done?
Who sets the sky on fire thus?

Asherah sweeps this fiery blush
Across the canvas of the sky.
ā€™Tis she who paints this abstract way
In which the colours dance and die
In fire at the close of day.
She paints the sky and leaves it thus.

Awesome work Tina! Deep and insightful, you depict the cyclical beauty of impermanence and the impermanence of beauty!

Great poem Being Me a joy to read then reread and one to captivate any lucky reader.
And an homage to Ashera one of the mother goddesses.
In a rhyme scheme so tricky to pull off, but you have and so deftly so.
I pinned this to reread and then reread again, for I more than enjoyed it.
Many thanks and keep writing and remain poetry blessed.
Take care.

Jim "The Lad" ....

Many times we rode our motorcycles out to a favorite spot with a few cans of drink on the back just to watch the sunset because we knew there were just enough clouds that the sky would be a blaze with color. Your poem captures those wonderful days in words I couldn't express until now! Thank You! .........Jim

Hi Jim!Ā  What a lovely scene you just painted yourself, with the friends and the motorbikes and the cans (of larger?) taking in the sunset. What a great memory to have. I am so pleased that my poem here reminded you of those happy times with friends. That is all any poet wants, to be able to fire something wonderful in their readers mind. Thank you so very much for a wonderful comment. I do truly appreciate you taking time to read this poem. I will pop over to your page later and return the favour. Have an awesome day my friend x
