Who She Is

She wasn't like the others
She didn't have a bunch of friends
And she didn't go out partying
She wasn't stick thin
And she wasn't athletic
She didn't have an amazing voice
And she didn't play an instrument

She was different from the others
She was quiet
But she could be loud, too
She always wore a smile
But she often seemed down
She was good in school
But not as smart as everyone thought

She was nothing like the others
She had scars
And she didn't tell everyone about them
She fought a daily battle
And she rarely won
But she smiled
She acted like she was okay
And they believed her

Because she was nothing like them
