Why Didn't You See Us?
Imagine:
You're walking down the same old street,
Walking on your same old feet,
Will you see the boy crying? No.
Will you notice the girl running? No.
Why?
Why didn't you see us?
Why did you focus on your feet?
You watched them glide over the concrete
You tried not to touch the cracks within the paving
If only you noticed.
If you noticed the boy would be here
If you noticed the girl would be here
You looked up at the sky to admire the birds
But will you admire the girl in the van?

Hi,
I don't understand the last line, it throws me off and confuses me.
Sorry, perhaps I am selfish not to see it. LOL
I tend to agree. Great first effort. I understood your meaning behind the poem and had decent flow. Just misunderstood the last line.
I'm actually not sure what I was going for in the end, it's hard to make sense of it, I say give it your own meaning.
