Poem -

Why didn’t you take the shot?

Why didn’t you take the shot?

All the stalks around me
are beheaded
The glass displays empty
unattended
Blood melts the snow
where the fawns fell
Why didn’t you take the shot?

If I were a daisy,
The field’s rarest teal
You’d surely snap my neck
If I were a watch
The most expensive yet
I’d be the one you’d steal

Blood melts the snow
where the fawns fell
I stand alone, left in the cold
You must only shoot beautiful deer

Beautifully written, Sad One. Wispy, and sad, and gorgeous. I loved it! M.
