Why me ?

Arrive home , conflicts inside.
Arrive home , conundrums I ,
cannot answer .
We all faced the same.
Is it all decided by fate?
Who dies ? Who lives ?
Sometimes decided by a second , or an inch ....

To be sure , I'm not unscathed
But I lived through it all the same.
Unlike so many others ,
Families now without fathers , sons and brothers.
Guilt I survived , questions arise , Why ?
I do not know , or cannot answer .....
