Wild Fire and the Cuckoo's Egg

As the autumn leaves fall
In line with the earth
I feel it too
Too soft to fight
For what is mine
But what would you do?
Who would you sacrifice
To save the world?
Would you give your child?
What kind of a world do we live in where that is acceptable
Plus what kind of God would request such a thing?
The fate of the world rests
On the wild heart
Of the mother dragon
We call Earth.
She is a fire serpent
Just trying to protect her young.
But we all remember the story of the cuckoo's nest.
The cuckoo plants her egg amongst the other
and the cuckoo devours the other chicks
In order to survive.
That's nature!
There was no place for a loving mother
In a world so cold.
So she dies
wishing for a better life
For her baby.
She will sacrifice herself
In his place
Thinking he is hers.

Cruel cruel world!
