Wilderness

breathlessly  
I run through  
the wilderness  
thoughts  
of this journey  
pulsing endlessly  

my lungs burning  
as my rapid feet  
cut the thin skin  
upon the  
shattered hearts  
cutting deeply  
slowly  
 I watch  
them bleed  

the mind halting  
I pause  
reality clearly beholds  
logic will forever  
overpower heart  
fear paralyzes  
my steps  
consequences  
consumes  
whispered breaths  

passion  
is to live  
in dreams  
but for me  
alone

only while  
I sleep
