The Wilderness

The closeness that we've had together
Though our hearts have never met
Your changing ways, await me
Time is my one regret.

I feel you drawing nearer,
as seasons pass my way.
I need you for my strength
for each oncoming day.

You linger in the distance
to far for me to reach.
My future does await you
With all that you can teach.

You've taught me much already,
But still so much to learn.
My great fullness for giving
For times of no concern.

I’ll wait until the time,
the time that our hearts will meet.
And take each day awaiting,
With triumph……not Defeat
