Will I Turn?
A Wolf You Imagined

Light came through my window and holy it shone
I awoke from death dreams and was gone
Somewhere I thought was home
It was you who taught me love
It was you who taught me hate
I didn't dare debate
Because I knew I was bound
Enchained to fantasy
So lost to an end...
Giving way to falacy
And so, I must turn
To leave you behind
Yes, I will turn
Into the opposite side of me
See me turn as the full moon cracks through the ominous clouds...
that tell of cries unheard
But only howls will tear the nightÂ
Leaving all in fright
Because you turned my heart
Tore it apart
And I will run...I will turn
In the dead of night
And I will be alive...

There are fantastic metaphors in the piece.
Favorite line:
See me turn as the full moon cracks through the ominous clouds.
The over all feel of the poem is deep, penetrating thought. I’m still uncertain as to what is happening in the poem. At first read, it sounds like you have had a nightmare that you are trying to resolve.
When you use the second person point of view, it led me to consider other meaning in the poem. I think by adding an additional stanza that describes what is going on may be helpful.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your feedback friend. Yes I wrote it as a metaphor. Trying in vain to combat her hurting me. Yet in end, she wins.
Superb work!Â
