Poem -

Will we ever learn?

Will we ever learn?

 Will we ever learn?
Why did it take our governments,
Too long,
To take control?
Why?
When they can see,
The evil this virus has,
Is one of spite.
Not wanting the world to co exist,
Taking from our earth a massive chunk,
How long,
Till we’ll all be up and running, and recovered from the virus' venomous bite.
Some,
like myself and my family, Have stuck to the rules,
That were 1st imposed,
Not leaving our house for 12 weeks,
External doors,
All locked and keeping closed. The only respite for us all in here,
Is our brick walled garden. Just big enough for us to stretch our legs,
My dog patrolling,
Like our house warden.
If someone knocks,
She gives us prior warning... Gloves on,
Masks up,
That’s the way,
With this virus,
We are trying to stop and Disrupt!
De seat,
De throne,
Showing it us humans,
We Are strong to the core,
Our bones...
Why are we lifting restrictions early?
All our government is thinking about,
Is not our lives,
But the countries economy. This is where the good natured among us appear, And like they’ve done for me and My family,
Help with food packages,
On the weekly.
Drs pulling strings like never before,
But giving out antibiotics,
For anything from ear ache to bloody foot sores.
Just incase,
We are containing,
The virus',
deathly spores.
So stay in if not working, Close your doors,
Only go out if completely necessary,
To the great outdoors!
Stop meeting up in factions, Kids cuddling at nurseries and schools,
Don’t let your kids go back yet.
Our government is run by greedy fools.
Thinking it to be safe,
When most have all along, Not stuck to the governments' rules.
Packed out beaches,
Forests filled with walkers. Now even the strong amongst us,
Drowning in the virus’ theoretical waters.
So do we all listen now? You’d think so but no.
I always thought we were a thoughtful,
Caring nation,
But alas,
Now it doesn’t seem so.
Us 5 have managed to do it,
With only 2 more weeks to go...
But then,
Will we be told to isolate again,
Just because others go out, Making the rest of us suffer, With this acostrophobic pain. When will they learn,
and take on the knowledge, that as a world,
We’ve now learned and gained.
All I want,
Is for my kids,
Our kids,
The next generation,
To live in as much peace, With no more pestilence, Roaming our world...
I truly hope not,
But I’m sure this virus amongst us,
Will surge once more.
It’s like watching a horror movie,
But real life,
Happy ending or not,
Either it will be,
Of that I am sure.
As there’s no other answers, We have in store.
Just look out for those close to you,
Your Kids,
Partners,
Family and friends.
And just remember that those relationships,
A virus,
This virus,
Will never end!
The only way to do it,
Is to stick to the rules,
Not a single one,
Should you bend.
As in doing so,
Isolation will happen all over again!
This virus has no limits,
It’s proving hard to slain.
As there's No place in the world,
it wont extend.
If you value your life,
Stick to the rules and don’t let this virus,
Cause anymore pain or your life to end!
