Will You Remember

Me when I'm gone or will that be too long,
will you miss everything that should belong,
I will still be here guiding you thro' your dreams,
listening like we used to: 'Islands in the streams.'
Do not be sad, I regret sometimes I was so bad,
so raise me up to remember all the good times we had;
you'd be surprised if I told you what it was like here,
in fact, no illness, how I wish it was for you my dear.
I saw my mom and dad who was wearing a Fair Isle pullover,
how I loved them, strange it was that we were again together,
they asked after you, I said you would love her the same as I do,
we danced a little, mom's hair glistened in the heavenly queue.
I must go now but remember that we were always the best,
as our old friend Tina sang: 'Simply better than all the rest.'

Terry, I enjoyed this read. I loved how you integrated songs. It added to the nostalgic feel this poem holds. Lovely pic too
