WILLIAMSJI MAVELI : TRIUMPH
TRIUMPH

TRIUMPHÂ
I strive with none,
for none was worth my rivalry:
Life I cherished, and,
next to nature, poetry
I washed both hands
before the flames of love;
It sinks to a deep ocean;
I am ready to go away
Although fatality walks
beside us on life’s road,
A dim eyewitness
at the body’s launch
And a last sentence
on man’s useless plant,
Other is the puzzle of its hazy face:
Death is a door,
a way to cave,
an uncertain pace
The soul must carry
a cross from birth to birth,
A grey overcome,Â
expectant with triumph.
