Me Within Me
Sometimes,
is a necessity
To dive deep
within ourselves
To gather up the dreams
we've intentionally forgotten
And hold them close to our hearts
Even though we know
they can never be realized
Again, we need solitude
To shed the masks we wear
And simply be ourselves
To breathe the air that is uniquely ours
Sometimes, when solitude arrives
Even nature becomes still
As if listening to everything
I have to say
At other times,
A gentle breeze caresses me
Birdsong fills the air
As if to accompany
my solitude
Sometimes,
Words rush into my mind
Brimming with
colors and emotions
They dance
within my heart
Transforming
stories and poems
My mind unburdened,
Soars like a kite
And then, it descends
Back to reality
All around me,
Yes, this is me
The me that is not mine
