A Misty Beauty

A misty Sunday by the parched riverbed,
Sun veiled in dust, a secret overhead.
A melody stirs within my soul's embrace,
Fighting the cacophony of this place.
A bird's call pierces, wind whispers its plight,
Fire creeps unseen, devouring the night.
Cattle egrets dance on wings of white,
Faint drumbeats echo, a fading light.
The riverbed, a wasteland, cracked and bare,
Hooves mark its back, forgotten projects there.
Haunting memories whisper in the sand,
Whispers of creation, a bygone hand.
The unseen river, a curve of deepest blue,
Glimmering beneath the trees, veiled with dew.
A chilling wind sweeps, a voice cries out in fear,
Warning of danger, a presence ever near.
Mysterious herders, cloaked in shadows deep,
With dark clothes and secrets they forever keep.
A flash of lightning, silence reigns supreme,
Eerie stillness follows, a haunting dream.
Soundless footsteps, a spirit's gentle tread,
A river deity, secrets overhead.
Who is this goddess, unseen and unk
