Winding stairs

Winding stairs

It seems I came
full circle

yet my birth
lies below me

drops of white
in a straight chain down

mix with the red pain screaming up
I was not prepared for

I trust in tears
to alter the make-believe
they emanated…

Thank you for teaching me
to use multiple mirrors
to break up the reflection,
my white witch,
daughter of the moon,

for I see the winding stairs
becoming more and more
pink up and up as they go
with every breath

no death, no death in me
yet

kindle the smithy
to melt the swords
to create me a wand,
a soul

I know now that pain
since I can admit to the love

I trust in tears
to find all the splinters
I left behind limping up
the winding stairs

all parts one new
birth, one new
climb
