Window pain

Staring through eyes, staring through the pane
Blurred from tears, Â blurred from the rain
Can’t touch or hear your loved ones speak
Through the double glazing, week after weekÂ
Wave and walk away you again left in the frameÂ
Pain you feel , it should be called window pain
Like a spider in a glass, Â just eyes on you
Like a captured animal, looking out in the zoo
Can’t reach normality or the touch of a hand
No fresh air, hugs are bannedÂ
Waiting for a new day, Â nothings changed
Just sit and wait in your “safety cage”
Safe from love, touch and a hand to hold
In your final days as you get oldÂ
You kiss your hand and place it on the glassÂ
Praying you’ll be the other side of the window when this horror will passÂ
