Winter Waits

Like a dancer without a partner,

or day without night

winter waits for your sparkle, your laughter, your light

But we know where to find it

we should let winter know

and it's not in twinkling fairy lights or candles or fake snow

it's the golden thread of glitter that you wove through us all

the one that we cling on to when we feel like we might fall

it's in our box of memories

and we can see it any time

we can focus in on any part and keep it in our minds

so while it might be dark outside

we can see the vivid hue

of your light that lingers in our hearts

while winter waits for you.

Thank you! I've never thought of myself as a poet but I know that I loved the feeling I got from writing that poem so much that I definitely want to write more. Thank you for giving me more confidence to go forth and create ❤
