WONDROUS HEART

WONDROUS HEART

Whilst going about my daily affairs
                                            I stop to ponder,
And never I cease to wonder
                                            How resilient is the heart

One man hurts, one man hates,
The other rips the rags of the heart
And another shuts the door in the face

                                            Yet, the wounded heart withstands
                                            The pushes and shoves,
Even the rips from brutal sorrow
And the force of loss and hunger

                                            The heart refuses to shrink
And swells with strength and care
                                            No matter what happens,
                                            In defiance it will stand,
                                            In defiance it will dare

                                            When the bread is scarce
                                            And the troubles a burden,
                                            Times are tough, no doubt,
                                            But the heart will survive,
As the heart is a wonder.

                                           Never I cease to marvel
                                           How strong is the heart.
