World Of Nothing

World Of Nothing

I created a world of nothing,
To escape this plane of reality.
Left its firm substance behind,
Of all problems now finally free.

Sole denizen of my domain,
This dimension of mind design.
Roaming as far as I please,
On nihility with no borderline.

In my endless realm of void,
Seeing only what I deem to see.
With no obstacles to surmount,
Where nothing ever harrows me.

No chaos, duplicity and discord,
Nor people, cities or signposts.
For upon this spectral sphere,
I share my dreams with ghosts.

Great write Shaun.

Very good brevity (saying a lot with a little words...which I'm not very good at)

Also good descriptive writing. Reminds me of Hurt - Johnny Cash / Nine Inch Nails....My empire of dirt. If you know what I mean? But that may just be the Scrumpy Jack

Syd, thank you for being so generous and I know what you mean and it isn't those mad apples either.
Just trying less is more breathing space on a narrow poetry road.
If that makes any sense!
And you mention Johnny Cash and Hurt and what a swan-song that was
for The Man In Black who is sorely missed, for there'll never be another like him.
Thanks again Syd and have a Scrumpy Jack on me:)

Jim, thank you sir for your uplifting words and a real booster tonic after a long day.
And yes it is a bit far out, Twilight Zone feel about it and you can see where my imagination roamed during my time away!!!
I guess use whatever comes to hand and build upon it.
Be reading your good self soon for a lot of catching up to do on that poetry front and looking forward to it.
And this coming Thursday is still a go for a certain posting.
Thanks Jim for all the tireless good you do on here and it's more than good my friend.

There’s more truth to this then meets first glance, as I feel you have explained how we all are. Some may be more out of involuntary creation while others more pro active to doing so but I feel we all are naturally trained to see what we see. We all build walls, have our own red flags etc.
Very thought provoking wrote Shaun, very enjoyable.

You're on the ball with your astute comment Rob.
We all need a fortress of solitude from time to time, the perfect getaway.
For to be in synch with the offerings and interactions with the majority 'you never had it so good' dumb downed society every day.
And the dwindling minority seeing through the garish plastic mask that is becoming threadbare and slipping.
Not to truly conform and Ye Gods-- to become a drone incapable of independent thought, just to serve the hive mentality/hierarchy, that greater so called good.
An empty vessel.  An automaton.
Sorry Rob, was I raving there.
Thanks Rob and it's always a pleasure when you pass by and leave stimulating comments.

Each of those four perfectly formed verses stand out from the page in their very own write and likewise, are more than capable of standing tall on their own ..

However, I also feel compelled to point out that together they make for one helluva powerful poetic force and that summative line at the end of the fourth is to die for ..

AGT's to both you n ya pen our brother Shaun ..

Your mate, Neville

Greg I bought it in early March and loved it and so did my daughter and here my friend is my 12th March Amazon review for it...

Greg Etsell's new poetry book is a must have and much needed book of absolute magic and light to proudly illuminate any poetry collection!
Magic most certainly, for Greg's words and beautiful poems will take a reader to places only he knows and willingly and generously shares.
Imagine a ride on a magic carpet for the first time and the exhilaration from doing so, for that is what you shall feel after reading any poem from good Greg and his wondrous poetry.
THE POETRY OF GREG ETSELL: THE BEST POETRY COLLECTIONS ON NATURE AND EVERYDAY WORLD is a must buy book and one to happily reach for to feel good in ones self when reading and after.
For that is what Greg brings to the poetry table, a wonderful sensation of innocence and those memories of younger and better, brighter days, which are mirrored in Greg's captivating book with beautifully adorned images.
Buy it now and you won't be disappointed. Thank you Greg!
