X MARKS THE SPOT

 
Put it down there and we won't forget 
Will be safe for years a guaranteed bet
We'll put a cross to remember the spot
Just by the canal and near the parking lot 

So they dug and dug and buried their loot
A most perfect plan they did execute 
Loot safe and they thought all was well
Hadn't bargained for the storm from hell 

The water in the canal burst its banks 
Smoothed over by several army tanks 
The cross of course had long disappeared 
Just a blob that was tatty and smeared
