YES TO HEAVEN

unseen across a field

Yes to heaven she said
as we crushed into a field bled
trailing tiny white flowers
over her burning braids
yes to heaven we said

closed down the forest edge
broken murder became the pledge
across a stolen horizon
we watched so many crashes
I saw you gather up the flames
placing each into separate blame

you whisper yes to heaven

nights coldest steed has ridden far
in those pale moonlit arms
I've rested before
so many shadows begin to dig
swollen is that earth we picked
above us from the centuries gasp
a thousand leaves begin the fall

We said yes to heaven

Read about your suicide
chalked in a child's game
kerbside roamers start to voice
I im just another king

yes to heaven

 throw a last pebble
with slow disgrace
see its motion
visit the empty space
