You

You

In the darkness I look for you
But find you gone.
Alone I grapple with the shadows ~
Dreams in tatters
A lifetime spent.

Once I shone like the Sun
But now?
Cold and unwelcoming like Saturn.

Half a Century and who am I ?

Discarded, Unwanted, Unholy, Unloved
Adjectives that scream to me in the dead of night.

I no longer dare to dream
Broken wings devoid of flight

In the darkness I looked for you
But only the smell of your hair on my pillow remained.
