Poem -
You Are Not!
You are not in my head,
you are not things Iāve said,
your are not choosing just how I feel.
You are not giving voice
to the things not my choice
you are loathsome Iām glad youāre not real!
If you were, IĀ can see
that I would not be me,
but the ghost of an image of you.
My true self would be gone
I would be your mute swan,
but Iām me, and now bid you adieu!

I love the encouragement of being true to yourself..even if sometimes it isn't what other people want to hear but we are all slowly becoming automatons spewing the rhetotic we are being pressured to and I love the idea of holding onto your own thoughts and view! well done...BTW loving the great rhythm of this piece it's a really balance, flowing piece!Ā Ā
Be yourself but never define what that means. You are fluid and you can only be who you are at the time. It is that person who must be honest.
I have just read that back and I might have been in the pub too long this afternoon but I still stand by the sentiment.Ā
