YOU KNEW

YOU KNEW

You knew my thoughts

You knew me inside and out

You understood me

What I'm all about

You knew me too well

You know where I hide

Behind a fake smile

With the pain deep inside

I had the world fooled

But I couldn't fool you

Somehow you just knew

What I was up to

I was tired of hiding

Tired of the pain deep inside

I took all the pills

To commit suicide

Somehow, you just knew

You pounded on my door

You called for help quickly

You paced the floor

We need more people like you

Who can see behind a fake smile

Someone who can see the pain

And go the extra mile
