Your Broken Chain

Why must love have a designated day? A day of flower bouquets , stuffed bears and endless chocolate. There's people kicked , thrown &  just left on the side because no one here let's go of their pride . There shouldn't have to be a day - just do it because you love me , don't do something society makes you feel like you must , don't be who you don't have to be. If you love me prove it . Randomly prove it , kiss me when I'm speaking to you , hold me for hours . Love me, that's all I want from you. You say that's not enough , that you'll never be able to repay me for all Ive done . I've only ever loved you . You say you'll spoil me , give me everything I could want & more . Listen here though ; lean in and listen close . You've already given that to me , all my hopes & all my dreams in which once made up a fictional character have made themselves come alive in this blurred version I now have of you. You have been broken , you have been let down in a long continuous cycle . But I promise you , here & now . I won't be the next link in your rusted chain of pain. I'm yours , forever yours .
