Art is Existence

When people think of art, they think of paintings. What they don't know is that art is around you everyday. Its the air you breathe, the ground beneath your feet, and it's even the gravity that keeps your world from turning upside (quite literally). Art is pastel colors on a canvas and the chemicals used to create them. Its the evolution of what once started as cave drawings, as well as the evolution of life in general. Its every star and planet out in space, every cell in your body, bacteria in the foods you eat, your bones/joints that keep you standing, and even your DNA. Art is the way your mind works and your heart beats. Its how we are all born with the same organs and yet we are all different in our own ways. Each career path we take involves art. Math is the art of numbers in equations. Literature as a whole, (even a poetic text to a friend at 3am about art when you can't sleep) is art. Musicians spend their entire lives perfecting the art of sound. Just like historians use their art to preserve the past, present, and future by relaying it back to you through the lines in your class text book. If you love something enough to pour your heart/soul into it and create something from it, it's art. That means anything that falls into the categories: life, love, or nature. Meaning the way animals stay in packs, how flowers search for warmth, and the way the sun reflects in your eyes when you smile. Its all beautiful and that's exactly what art is. Its the beauty in not only the complex, but the simple aspects of life as well. Art is existence.
