GANG RAPED AFTER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

GANG RAPED AFTER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
One day I left
The past wept
My legs left
Out the front door
This was the last time
I let him HIT me
That was my domestic violence year
After 6 months of healing
Walking through the park one day
A group of guys approached
My heart was beating fast
I knew what was coming
I let them FUCK me
That was my gang rape
I ran to the cop station as fast as my feet could
The same officer who told me
That I choose the wrong men
In my marriage
Told me I chose the wrong park to walk through
That they would see what they could do
To catch the offenders
The psychiatrist calls it PTSD
That it will take time
That I should try regain my dignity
That everything is going to be OK
For sleep take this
For anxiety take that
And for depression take
So I took
I took so much
I overdosed
Because I was gang raped
After domestic violence,
It hurts still
And I don't feel safe no more.

I`m just hoping and praying that this piece is fictional!.... Jai!....
The police have improved the system over here in England and have worked hard to develop special investigative teams with specially trained officers and therapist`s, with resident therapy units who only deal with victims of abuse, and this has come about, over the last 30 years or so!
But there is still a very long way to go in helping victims, after the abuse, and through their therapy and medical treatment. That particular officer in this piece is obviously in the wrong job!! It is simply horrendous that people are abused like this, both men and women are victims and children too. The punishment needs to be much more severe for the perpetrator. People who commit these terrible atrocities should never be allowed to live free in society. The sentence for such terrible crimes like this should be life in prison. People who behave like that will never change, therefore they should not have their freedom at all.
This piece was a shock to read Jai.... But it is an important subject because abusers are in every walk of life. People need to realize that any form of abuse, mental, verbal or physical, is wrong no matter what the situation is at the time. Victims often feel that they are at fault and the authorities need to reiterate to them that they are a victim and that it wasn`t their fault. They have done nothing wrong. It was the abuser who committed the crime and they should be taken off the streets for good. There should be zero tolerance from the authorities to these crimes, full stop!! Well done for this very well written and carefully thought out piece and for bringing it to the readers attention.
Love and hugs

It still happens; both in west and non western countries even with special teams women are blamed and certainly with certain regions and religions more than ever; domestic violence, incest, prostitution; under many conditions and authorities ignore; blame and blind eye, woman are vulnerable, children too, men too; church abuse, where does it end?
Thanks G for read & in depth review!
Jai:)?
