Maverick

His shattered existence dwells on an endless void, 
like a twisted game it seeks to cripple his soul.

As the breeze whisked her away the depths claimed her,
stole beauty in a reckless world.
 The room echoes her laughter as love tries to console.
He longs to hear her whisper through the falling rain
and prays for a miracle that would have him hold her once again.
A mystic sanctuary that would one day catch their glow.
He savors his whisky as he swallows the last pill
and as the picture falls from his hand,
