Beyond The Call

Beyond The Call

She waits by the window and stares into another time
The glass is still, though its transparency is bound
Not only is she unconscious of her own demise
As she screams out for her love, but the only sound
Is the echo lost, where he can't be found
For in a field of carrion he roams
Beneath the caliginous sky that came crashing down
Trapped in a vision, which will not unfold
A light to the past, a light to come home
Within a recurring haze and dwam they linger
Haunted by the life that is no more
And the offspring run through the wind of whispers
Around the tree that shakes, though will not fall
Waiting to receive their kin, who perished beyond the call
