The Sun's Parting Gift

The Sun's Parting Gift

Before it got dark and before all the stars,
I looked up at the sky and saw a slice of the moon
And I marvelled at how precise it was cut β€”
Laser sharp in Heaven's lagoon.

And I saw the birds fly, the crows to their roost,
Those little black scraps flying up and away
'Neath indigo clouds in a vast sea of pink β€”
The sun's parting gift to the day.

This is one of my favorite poems that you have penned Being Me.
You have a steady hand and a controlled ink.
β€˜Simply beautiful.
Thank you for your work.
