A Chance Encounter ( Dmitri )

I thought she would be the death of me,
the girl in my arms.
I'd been walking along, minding my business,
when she had tripped and stumbled toward the sidewalk.
Naturally, not thinking, I'd caught her.
So, there we were, staring at each other.
Her eyes, wide in surprise, were fascinating.
Browns, Golds, greens, woven deeply and intertwined.
I saw something else in her eyes, but I didn't have time to find out.
Part of me started to recognize the situation.
My heartrate spiked slightly,
and My cheeks reddened in embarrassment
She was... very warm in my arms.
Her face soon matched mind,
but I physically could not let go.
She seemed to realize that and waited for me patiently,
her slight blush the only indicator of what she was feeling.
I reigned control of myself a moment later,
withdrawing my arms from around her.
To my surprise,
she didn't step away immediately.
She didn't run away,
but, rather stared at me for a moment longer.
She opened her mouth as if to speak, but, seeing my eyes,
Looked away. Her body relaxed a bit,
and she started to leave,
before pausing and turning back to me.
"Thank you." Those were the first words she ever said to me.
"Any time" was the only response I could muster.
I blushed more deeply as she laughed to herself.
"I don't plan on falling anymore today." She turned, still smiling and walked on.
Though, at the edge of my hearing, I heard her parting remark.
"Although, if you're here to catch me, I might not mind."
I smiled like an Idiot and followed her, Introducing myself.
We missed class that day,
for the first of Many days,
talking to each other like no one else existed.
Love can never be true at first sight.
It's what happens after that matters.
Turning a chance encounter with a stranger,
into moment where you both started to spend every moment together.
Boy met Girls, and we flew.
