A Dark Heart of Redemption

Pulling away my flesh as the bloody skin drips from its talons
My corpse lay in the fields of redemption
As the hollow of my eyes shed tears for the last time
A dark heart reaps to have mercy
on the drugs that dragged me
To this place of my cowardly death
I fear this time that this may be real
