A FRUITY POEM

Fruit is a thing that appears in the world today 
Not just for eating but also what people say
So please don't be embarrassed and do not cry 
When I say you are the apple of my eye 

I won't go into detail about popping your cherry
Enjoy the experience it will leave you feeling merry
When life gives you lemons make lemonade 
One of the great sayings to make the top grade

When two sporting teams meet for a contest 
A plum tie sums up the description the best 
Please don't go bananas while you're reading this
Fruit and a poem is an opportunity too good to miss

So may you not give a fig about this poem it's up to you
Gave me sixteen lines of poetry though that's very true
I will leave it now and I feel just fine and great 
Have to get ready for my evening date
