A new year

​​​​​​We begin to reminisce of this last year, and a new one, so near.

We smile at the good times and at the bad, we may shed a tear.

What we have greatly achieved, and what we have yet to attain.

Some look back on a good year, but others look back with disdain.

2017 will shortly be upon us, and as I think back to my own last year;

I am grateful to write my words that were once too muted by fear.

My hope is to continue with my unusual and strange poetry ways;

And wish to the rest of humankind a very peaceful 365 new days.
